Living Water International this Sunday This Sunday, immediately following worship, 12:30pm, join us at our place of worship for lunch as we let Christ Winters from Living Waters International update us on their ministry and our involvement in it.  Last Christmas we purchased wells, and Chris is here to tell us how our dollars and the waters they provide are at work to not only nourish the body, but the soul with the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ.  If you're not part of Isight, you're welcome anyway to join us.  Hope to see you. Bring nothing but yourself.  We'll provide food and kidcare.
Book of the Month Why We Love the Church  is an excellent, entertaining, and really profitable new book, written by a pastor and one of his layman.  Here's an indicting excerpt in hopes you'll buy it and profit much from it: "No one will be offended by a transcendent yet personal god who accepts us perfectly and wants to give our lives meaning and purpose.  But this is not the Jesus  the apostles preached.  Their Jesus was transendent and personal, but He warned of judgment and demanded repentance.  He spoke freely of sin, salvation, and necessity of new birth.  The apostles preached Christ dead, buried, and raised for our justification.  They preached Christ and Him alone...That was their message and the world hated them for it."
Feed and Feast Join us for the upcoming Feed & Feast this coming Sunday, Aug. 29, 5:30 PM at our place of worship.  We'll be looking at our current context, the postmodern world, and our God-given agenda, the proclamation of the Gospel.  Hence, Feed_and_Feast_3.pdf .  Click on the link to the left of this very sentence to download the powerpoint notes for yourself.

Please remember to either sign up for a dish or just bring one if you're out of the email loop.  And bring your kids too.  This is a family event, and kidcare is provided during our teaching and discussion.
Current Sermon Series: the Beatitudes Over the next 8 weeks we'll be exploring in depth Jesus' introduction to his Sermon on the Mount, commonly called The Beatitudes, or literally, "the blessings".  In them, Jesus lays out a way of life in sharp contrast to the ways the world offers up for life.  The picture that emerges from Jesus' teaching is difficult, but truly blessed.  Come these last weeks of summer and explore with us what a life of blessing really looks like.
